WDMyCloud.com sign up problems

I’ve already returned a MyCloud device because of this and other issues, hoping that it was just a faulty device…so i’m here with another just out of the box unit.

:cry:I cannot register myself on the  Cloud Access UI  as the admin, all i get is…

ERROR

The web access account you requested for could not be created.

Ensure that you do not have any network  connectivity issues and try again (250006)

I appear as a normal user with a blank email and I cannot updated this in user profile either…!

I have no network issues, I have tried using numerous OS, Vista, Win7, Win8 and Android…anyone else have this issue

Hmmm.   I can’t imagine why you would have TWO units exhibit the same errors.

Searching the web, you’re actually the ONLY person reporting that error that google can find…

Didn’t we go through all that before in this post.

It does seem that there is ‘something’ wrong at your end.

I can ping the the device, setup an alert email, see the device through my numerous pc’s, smart phone, but I can create a user but it will never allow me to register an email to a user, device is from the same store so its the same stock!

That means nothing.  ALL of us, effectively, have the same drive (assuming of course, we’re running the latest firmware release…)

“Same Stock” is meaningless when it comes to software errors.   Hardware problems: possibly, but hardware problems don’t usually generate consistent software errors.

That’s like saying my two copies of Windows have a bug because it came from the same store…

Did you enable uPNP on your router? What does the “Cloud Access Status” say on the dashboard in the Cloud Access section.  Also, if you can, post a screen shot of the Cloud Access section of the dashboard.

uPNP is enabled, I’ll post a few screen shots later, my next door neighbour is an IT guy, he said my network is fine as regards settings etc. Setup up mycloud on static ip.

How about setting it up on your neighbours network to see if it works there. (As a test)

Ya. He’s offered to do that.

Then I would take him up on it. At least you would know if its your network or not and you get the benefit of his expertise.

Could there be a bb supplier issue?

What’s BB supplier?

Maybe best buy.

BB: broadband :-/

Exactly the same problem as Doom74. Got my 2TB MyCloud device. I can add users, access from multiple sources, using different operating operating systems, store and retrieve all types of files…

BUT…

I can’t register for WDMyCloud.com Login.

Won’t accept my email and gives the 25006 error. Withoyt registering for the MyCloud.com I take it I can’t access this drive for outside my home network (on anything that hass’t been paired in the house - i.e. I can access the drive from my phone when away from my house, but I wont be able to access it from another PC.)

I am having a similar issue.  I am attempting to setup my WDMyCloud.com login for my newly purchased 3TB MyCloud device with model number WDBCTL0030HWT-NESN.

I followed step 2 from the manual:

To give the user access to the WDMyCloud.com web site:

  1. If the user already has a WDMyCloud.com login, you can update and/or resend it to the
user by clicking the appropriate icon.
Note: You can also delete it.
  2. If the user does not have a WDMyCloud.com login:
    a. Click Sign Up to display the Sign Up for WDMyCloud.com Login dialog box.
    b. Enter the user’s name and email address and click Save.
    c. In response to the confirmation message, click OK. The user receives the email and must follow its instructions.

I NEVER GET AN EMAIL, just the error message, "

  • The web access account you requested for could not be created. Ensure that you do not have any network connectivity issues and try again. (250006)"

I am able to store files, create shares, update some settings, but several other functions of the device return errors.

Here are other errors that may be related:

  • When I run the full test diagnostic it stops at 10%.

  • When I attempt to update the firmware I get "

    • The web access account you requested for could not be created. Ensure that you do not have any network connectivity issues and try again. (250006)" error

Basically anything that needs to connect out to the internet fails.  I am able to connect to the internet from the same network from all other devices.

 Please advise ASAP.

Update, swapped out my router(Motorola Netopia) for my neighbours one ( tp link) and it works, can someone look into this as I don’t want to buy a router, there are setting’s which I’m not familiar with that probably need changing.
Its a pity the in box document wasn’t better with the setup, as this device is aimed at domestic use, not IT degree holders, the Netopia router is common in Ireland.

I suppose the guys on support here should know most of us have broadband operator supplied routers and may have settings which may need changing…

Hi guys,

I have the same problem. Yesterday I have purchased WD MyCloud 3TB. After I tried Sign up in  http://wdmycloud/UI/ via Cloud Access I got following error message:
The web access account you requested for could not be created. Ensure that you do not have any network connectivity issues and try again. (250006)

How can I obtain  WDMyCloud.com Login ?

Could be the problem with rooter setup? I have D-link - DI 524.

Thanks for any help.

Me too, getting errors when trying to sign up for WDMyCloud.com log in. Saves the name but gets similar error (250006, 250010 from either the cloud access screen or user screen in the dashboard). I opened a support ticket and spoke to an agent last night. Performed a full factory reset and still having the issue tonight when I tried set up again.

[Deleted] closed the ticket.

The Concierge Service (24 hour support for MyCloud installs 855.556.5117) phone number is not working tonight - it forwards to a message in Spanish.
