I have tried to connect the cloud drive in WD Sync but failed to do so.
When I configure the WD storage device in WD Sync it could see the storage device OK. I also sign in to mycloud OK without any issues. However when I select the device and going to proceed to the next step, it shows the message ‘please wait’ and it seems to do nothing. I could not proceed to the next steps.
At home, the MyCloud is already set up with WD Sync (Windows 10 PC), but when I try to connect to it from the PC at work (Windows 7 Ultimate PC), I got the same problem as described above.
I can login and select the MyCloud, But it only shows me “Please wait”. After a few minutes, I have to select my drive, again. This happens all the time, so I can’t proceed to the next steps.
Am I doing something wrong? Or are there some settings on my Windows 7 PC that I have to change, like Firewall or something?
I am the same with a mac running OS X el capitan and a mac book pro OS X el capitan, the macbook pro works perfectly, however on the same network the mac wd sync service says that its starting up but never does anything… Any ideas?
I have done the normal, restart, reinstal everything, reformat the wd drive, but for the life of me work it out.
Thats correct I can’t connect at all, even to install new firmware! The drive is functioning fine from what I can see it just can’t / won’t connect to my network even though its been on the network for nearly 2 years.
I have uninstalled then reinstalled all wd software also as I thought maybe my software was out dated and might have been causing a conflict but still no joy.
Your other threads show that there is something wrong with the operation of the Ethernet port on your MyCloud; it’s not just WD Sync that cannot connect to your MyCloud, nothing can connect to your MyCloud.
WD Sync is connecting okay to your ‘WDMyCloud2’, correct?
I did some analysis last night. There is a REST API call that responds with the device firmware data. It could be @jaybelfast’s device isn’t providing that detail the WD Sync needs.

Very good question. This is where WD support and development needs to step in. I was contacted on Friday and they have yet to respond with any actionable tasks.
Jay’s MyCloud can’t even detect that the network cable is unplugged, so I think it’s something a bit more fundamental than not getting an API response…
I understand what you are saying, but @jaybelfast indicated there is nothing wrong with his network or cables. @jaybelfast can you login to the dashboard of the second cloud device?
