Recently upgraded firmware from 5.30.103 to 5.31.101. Since the ‘upgrade’ I have been login to the NAS after it has rebooted, but subsequently am unable to access it due to internal server error 500. Reinstalling 5.30.103 resolves the issue, it looks like something was broken in the most recent update.
Same problem!! Please fixit!!!
How to install older firmware?
I have the same problem - internal server error 500. Please fix it ASAP!
1a) Disable automatic firmware update in “Settings”>“Firmware Update”>“Auto Update”
1b) Download older firmware. In this case 5.30.103.
2) Confirm correctness of both actions noted in step 1).
3) Upload the firmware received by step 1b) to the NAS by using “Settings”>“Firmware Update”>“Manual Update”
Thanks!!!
But internal server error, no access dashboard…!
I can’t manual update …
How?
Sorry bad English…
Is the physical on/off Button of your NAS still functional? Then press it, wait until the shutdown completes, then restart by pressing that button again.
Otherwise emulate a power down for your NAS by temporarily removing its power cable.
After restart the server might be stable enough to downgrade the firmware—on my EX4100 this procedure was successfull.
ok, thanks , I try..
Thanks, everything ok!
I experienced the exact same issue with the web interface not loading after upgrading the EX2 Ultra to 5.31.101. Fixed it simply by hard rebooting the device.
Lucky EX2 Ultra owner!
After upgrading the firmware again, the server of my EX4100 screws up after about two hours—have to downgrade again.
Same problem with 5.31.101 on EX4100. Had to downgrade to 5.30.103 to stop the intermittent 500 errors. I would have to refresh the webpage for the NAS 3 or 4 times in a row to get past the 500 error, after which some features worked, others didn’t. Tried soft and hard reboots but downgrade was the only option which worked.
if you have somewhere to send you money i will send…you save me a lot of headeachs
Owner of WDMyCloudEX2100. Same problem started to occur with 5.31.101
Seems that the console is affected only. Network is stable and android app works OK.
Was trying to find some logs for this problem, but nothing related to it was stored. Hope it gets fixed, planning to downgrade until this is sorted out.
Br,
Allan
I can confirm that we have same issue after upgrading WD My Cloud EX2 Ultra with latest FW [FW version: 5.31.101].
Going to downgrade one step down.
Same problem for me. Please, could you fix it in a next release?
A suggestion to all. If the device you’re using has not gone past it’s End of Life, then contact WD Support directly to report the issue.
You can reboot from “My Cloud OS5” on a phone under the settings. “gear icon”
It is just the dashboard that stops connecting.
I can still access the shares from my iPhone and laptop.
I do use plex, and I can still access that as well.
you can access it from your PC as well to reboot.
