If there is a purchase a regret in my life that is of the WD my cloud, what a piece of !#&/%!#=
I dont recall been able to use it whenever i really wanted it.
Now a new problem:
I try to log into it vie web browser and none of my stored passwords work.
Via the map network and then i get the error “you may not have permission to…” see image attached
The second paragraph in that error message tells you the problem. It is not the fault of the My Cloud. It is the fault of Microsoft Windows. Windows doesn’t like it when one uses two or more different User/Login login accounts when attempting to access NAS devices.
The workaround is to use only one login to the NAS and give that user (in the My Cloud’s case via the My Cloud Dashboard) access to all the Shares you are attempting to access.
One may have to access the Windows Credentials Manager and remove one or all of the My Cloud user accounts listed there to clear this error.
Also note that if using VPN or multple IP subnets and the My Cloud is on a different IP subnet. One may have problems accessing the My Cloud and or the My Cloud Dashboard. The My Cloud Dashboard typically rejects access if the device is on a different IP address subnet.
