This seems to be a recentish error. I can see the shares, but clicking on them gets an infinite wait.
I switched SMB1.0 back on, no effect. Help! Can’t access any files.
What OS are you on? What other changes/updates/upgrades have you done recently?
Win 11 home. Nothing else new. Removed Malwarebytes.
You may need to try the following suggestions.

Some Microsoft Windows updates will break network access or cause issues with older My Cloud models.
Right click, Open - exactly the same issue. A mix of Acronis and simple file transfer. Not sure of the generation - why does it matter?
“Buy a new NAS” - Great.
Not.
Right. So, after changing several settings (one at once of course), and no joy, suddenly the MyCloud crashed. Did a hard reboot (not the first). This time ,when it came back up I had to re-enter setup. The device had forgotten shares but remembered users. Once the shares were re-set up (names only) I was able to access them immediately and see the existing files. Unfortunately because I changed so much I have no idea what actually worked. Because of Windows recommendations I am going to switch off SMB 1.0 again and hope that does not break things.
Not sure what you are talking about. I never said you should buy a new NAS. For certain Windows issues the suggested SMB client signing and SMB encryption fixes detailed in those two links are what one should try.
The reality is certain My Cloud models, particularly the single bay My Cloud models are up to 10 years old and are either out of support or will be out of support by December 2026.
The single bay My Cloud line always had limited configuration options with it’s custom firmware which has lead to many issues over the years in these subforums; with this Microsoft SMB signing requirement just being the latest that My Cloud owners are having to deal with (if affected). In some cases one has to use the IP address of the My Cloud for access or they have to delete the Windows Credentials Manager entry for their My Cloud to fix certain access issues.
You didn’t say it, it was the final recommendation of the video you posted, lol.
I did try a lot of the things recommended including credentials manager, and IP did not work either. I don’t know what caused the box to freeze, and then start working on reboot. I suspect it is the SMB signing as you mention.
Maybe I should rip the drive out of it so I can use the 2TB in another context…
