Local Access to WD MyCloud disconnected

The model is wdbctl0030 (single bay MyCloud). I realize this is older and no longer supported but was hoping to repurpose for some temporary use where if it died later, it is no issue.

  • I can connect through home network via IP address and see Shares and User settings.
  • I can see shares via Win File Manager, but cannot access contents of any of them.
  • Network connection no longer works so clock and date are incorrect, etc. (if that makes any difference).

Is there any other way to access contents?

@RicknNC

Have you set your device up for use on your home network only? Is Internet turned off?

What address do you use for viewing the shares?

Example Image.

What is the exact Windows File Manager error message that is displayed when you attempt to access the My Cloud on the local network? Are you accessing a My Cloud Share or one of the Twonky My Cloud media server folders (Music, Video, etc)?

Do you have your My Cloud directly connected to the local network router?

Is the router configured to block internet access (NTP, etc.) to the My Cloud device?

Does the My Cloud have a router DHCP server manually reserved IP address, or a static IP address?

If using Windows have you enabled SMB 1.0 and performed several other tweaks (listed below) that address recent Microsoft patch update issues.
