wd2go access remotely on iphone not working

Hi

I  bought a My cloud 2tb about 1 week ago. When i installed it, i first updated it to  the latest firmware. Then i configured it as much as possible, and moved data onto the shares.

I am able to access it on my network either using a pc, wd tv live or a Iphone/ipad

I am also able to access the My cloud remotely on my laptop. I access the email with the link to wd2go, log in into the site, and after clicking on the My cloud icon, get to see my shares and content.

On the contrary, when i do the same thing on my iphone (with wifi disabled, so connected through 3G), i can also connect to the WD2go website and log in. Then i see the My cloud icon, but when i click on this, i get the error:

“Safari cant open the page. No server connection available”

I followed the steps in the below thread:

http://community.wd.com/t5/WD-My-Cloud/HOW-TO-Troubleshooting-Remote-Connectivity-Issues/td-p/617261

Step 5 is giving me the Forbidden page when i try to connect via my iphone. So according to the how-to i am able to “reach” the My Cloud.

I already have

  • Force-close the WD App.
  • If your device is Cellular-capable (3G / 4G / etc): DISABLE WiFi to force the phone to use cellular data.
  • Put the phone in Airplane Mode.  Wait 10 seconds, and turn off Airplane Mode. Wait for your device to rejoin the cellular data network.
  • Restart the app and try connecting again

But nothing seems to help?

You need to download and use the My Cloud Mobile app.

Correction: Since I was using my laptop on my own wifi, it’s normal that he was able to connect.

Later, I tried to connect when i was at my parents, but i was not able to make a connection. I guess something is still nog configured correctly.

Also tried using the wd my cloud photo app, but that also doesn’t work via 3g
