WD NAS connected to local network-no internet-web interface is accessible-unable to access files in windows

Hi there,

i’m currently facing issues with my FO so i have no internet available(except mobile).
i need to access my WD My Cloud mirror Gen2 from the mapped network drive in Windows but unable to.
however, i am able to access the web interface through the static ip i have assigned to the storage.
so at this moment, i access my file through the Web File viewer from the web interface.

can anyone tell me if it is because i have no working internet connection? or do i have it on the wrong settings?

i apologized if this has been answered before.

Thank you.

Internet access shouldn’t matter at all, presuming your router is still working fine to manage your local network (which it sounds like it is, given you can access the dashboard).

Check your settings on the drive mapping, that it is pointing to the correct IP address or network name for your MCM. Given that you can access the device via the web interface then fundamentally things are working.

Also check that the share which the mapped drive points to still exists using the name set up for it for the mapping, and that the username/password credentials you are using (if it’s a private share) are valid for the share.

Thank you for responding, i’ll definitely check that out.
