WD My cloud direct transfer

Hi iv’e just purchased the WD my cloud and i have an external HDD which has 60GB of files on it i want to transfer to this new HDD.  Im aware you cant transfer the files through the usb port of you pc, through the network and into the my cloud as the my cloud and laptop is connected through the same router on the same network via ethernet cables.  By transfering large files does it use you broadband data to transfer?  or with it being through a local network transfer it wont use your upload sppeds/data to transfer?  Because i was thinking of just transfrering it by directly plugging the external hdd into the back of the wd my cloud and transfering it that way but that doesnt seem possible?

Thanks just thought id ask because transferring 60gb of family files would take forever through a network?

Transferring 60GB of data thru the network should hardly take “forever.”

It should take no longer than an hour, assuming only 20MB/second throughput.

No, it does not use your broadband data to do local transfers.

Then there is something grown with my settings, I am transfering 105 GB since this morining (It is 9:45 PM) and dont even have 50% done. The estimated time left is 10 hours and 42 minutes. My connection is hardwire and the speed reported in “Local Area Connection Status” is 1.0 Gbps.  Any Ideas?

So far I am at 5 hours, but then again also completed 900 gigs so far.  another 800 to go.
