Update: WD2Go.com (MyCloud.com) Back Online!

WD2Go.com is apparently back online and one can now log into the new online interface. Please post any issues or comments about the updated WD2Go.com site to this thread rather than starting a new one.

http://wd2go.com

Thanks for the update…I was able to log in but, it tells me my device is off line which I know it is not.  They only thing I can think is that I did a downgrade of the firmaware to ver 3 since I was having issues with ver 4.

On that note…a new firmware was released today 9/28/2015

Good luck

There is now a sync app called WD Sync that can be downloaded through the WD2Go.com website. Login to the website and select the link that is your name in the upper right corner. Then select “Get WD Sync” for the option to download the program.

“Get WD Sync so you can easily upload files from your computer to your new personal cloud. WD Sync keeps your most important files automatically synchronized across your computers.”

Edit to add: The WD Sync for Windows and WD Sync for Mac can be downloaded from the links below or from the WD Support Downloads by Product page. Folks should try to keep any comments or issues with the new software confined to the threads started for each of the programs to avoid having duplicate threads.

Any additional comments or discussions on the WD Sync software should probably take place in their respective software threads posted above so as to not clutter up this thread and any issues people may have with the WD2Go.com website.

Hopefully WD will quickly fix the  http://www.mycloud.com as it is currentlly throwing the following error on my end in Internet Explorer and Chrome:

Server Error in ‘/’ Application.

Configuration Error

Description: An error occurred during the processing of a configuration file required to service this request. Please review the specific error details below and modify your configuration file appropriately.

Parser Error Message: Unrecognized attribute ‘targetFramework’. Note that attribute names are case-sensitive.

Source Error:

An application error occurred on the server. The current custom error settings for this application prevent the details of the application error from being viewed remotely (for security reasons). It could, however, be viewed by browsers running on the local server machine.

WD Sync need the new firmware upgrade for it to work properly. BUT, since version 4 is still not working correctly even after the new release that came out today, I will pass.

So, what we have here is poor firmware upgrades that turn my cloud into a storage device (NAS).  WD you dropped the ball and I would not be purchasing any WD items in the future.

Hello,

Someone know how to mount your wd MyCloud Folders via the new web interface as network drive in your windows file explorer?

Or is there any other way to remotely mount them in the FileExplorer?

best regards,

phiL

PS: The look&feel and perfomance of the new webinterface is very good in the first tests.

Remote drive mapping doesn’t appear to be (currently) possible with the new WD2Go.com. There is now a WD Sync program that will sync data between computers and that gives one a sort of “mapped” drive in Windows Explorer.

Thank you for your fast reply.

If it is so, this would be a downgrade of the software. An automatic sync software can’t replace a normal working network drive.

I agree.

As long as we can´t mount drives remotely this is a downgrade of the product we bought with this feature. Dissapointing I have to say.

Regards.

Yes the inability to map remotely is a downgrade from the prior WD2Go.com. However, perhaps this SDK kit WD mentions as being part of the OS 3 will allow someone to create a way to map a drive or share remotely.

WD should step up and tell it’s customers why this feature is no longer available and if there will be a replacement option.

There are two mycloud sites that I can log in to the new version does not have the ability of selecting or selecting ALL check boxes see screen shots below comparing these sites.

I am a bit confused as to why there are two sites.

Bob

BELOW IS THE VERSION THAT HAS THE CHECK BOXES

BELOW IS THE LATEST RELESE

What are the two sites?

Both of the following URL’s load the new site that doesn’t appear to support mapping drives like the old WD2Go.com site did.

http://www.wd2go.com/

http://www.mycloud.com/

This site has the check box feature: https://webfiles.wd2go.com/
This site does not: https://files.mycloud.com/

Will the first site be going away?

That site looks to be just for the files that have been shared with you (i.e., the person who is logged in). Where as your other link is the same as the two I posted which appears to be the new online portal for one’s my cloud device. One can click on the “Shared” menu option (next to File) from the main portal to see those files that you have shared with others and those files others have shared with you.

My system was just updated to v04.04.00-308.  I power cycled the unit, told it to resend the registration email.  I clicked on the link in the email and enter the required login info.  Page puts up “Signing in…” and that’s as far as I get.  No errors, no status messages, just a web page hanging at “Signing in…”.

Can the select feature be added to the new mycloud.com site?

Bob

For those wondering if  they will be able to remotely mount their drives like they could under the old WD2Go.com site. Here is the answer posted to another thread by a moderator.

“It is no longer possible to map folders through mycloud.com.  That was only capable with WebDav.  We no longer are using WebDav, we’re using Webfiles on mycloud.com.  We found too many limitations using WebDav.”
