I am unable to connect to My Cloud. One day it was working, the next… No luck.
The light on the front is either blinking or solid orange color. It will not turn blue anymore
I have rebooted the drive, router, computer and everything else - multiple times
I have reset using both the 4 and 40 second resets
I can see the unit on my computer network list but am unable to access any of the folders/drives on the disk
MyCloud laptop software will no longer connect.
Running windows 10
Any ideas??? Am I out of luck??? I need the files on the disk.
Thanks for help!
Contact actual WD support, and see if you can get warranty service. It sounds like the internal HDD has gotten hosed somehow.
Hi @elsmain
What is the model number of your drive? There isn’t an orange LED on any of the My Clouds, but there is a yellow one on the original version of the My Cloud. Here is a description of what the various LEDs on that model mean:
Ahh. Good call.
Is it yellow-- Attention, insert cable!
or is it red-- Attention, Sheit got real!!
Inquiring minds want to know!
Well… It isn’t the best of color monitors… It could be considered a solid yellow (which isn’t on the spectrum) or white. But nothing seems to be downloading. I don’t know what to do about it. I have rebooted and reset. I don’t know what’s left without loosing the data. I need the data!
Hi. Mine is solid blue but I can’t connect to the web interface. I can see the device in my Mac finder but it can’t connect. This was after I changed our router.

Hi. I had a Huawei router from our broadband provider before I switched to home fiber and I think the router manufacturer is GPON ONU. BTW I’m from the Philippines.
I don’t know if it’s the same in the Philippines as it is here in the US, but I had fiber at an old home (sadly had to go back to cable when I moved) - The fiber I had did not have a router at all - It used an ONT. I had to connect my own router in order to use multiple devices on my network.
The first step in figuring out this problem is understanding what equipment is being used on the network. Could you find that out?
