Hi there!
I’m trying to configure configure my macbook pro with WD Sync. I install the program, run it and select my drive and lastly I input the user password. The application at this point stop working, on the bottom right side it keeps saying “please wait” but it goes nowhere.
I’m currently running OSX 10.12.4 Sierra on this machine.
Tried on a different user, same problem.
I tried to connect with my workplace mac and it works like a charm, but that machine runs OSX 10.11.6…
Anybody has the same problem? Should I just wait for an update?
Thank you guys
Pssst…
Just turn on SSH, then use rsync over ssh with the root account. Works like a charm. You can even schedule that with the OSX Automator app. (assuming it is local anyway)
OSX has the rsync command line utility baked in by default. (windows does not).
The MyCloud responds to rsync over ssh by default if SSH is enabled.
If this is not local… well… Just be aware that the WDSync tool is known to be buggy.
WD Sync has its issues, more than a few have dumped the sometime troublesome program and opt to use 3rd party programs like Free File Sync (http://freefilesync.com/) for local computer syncing/mirroring to the My Cloud. The disadvantage to 3rd party sync software is the general inability to (easily) remote sync the computer to a remote My Cloud.
