My WD EX4 started to exhibit slow responses so I decided to reboot the NAS box. When is can back up, I went to the wed console to only find it was asking to set the admin password like it was powered on for the first time. Tried to access the shares, and my UN and PW was not working (this is a separate UN and PW from the admin account). So I tried to access the shares with the admin account, at first it would allow access until I left the password field blank.
I also noticed that other settings, such at the LCD and LED was light and I know I had them turned off. I fear the settings has reverted back to factory settings. The RAID seams to be healthy, but I don’t want to move forward with setting the admin password and other setting the first time use dialog, in fear that it will attempt to reconfigure the RAID and erase all my data.
Any advise would be greatly appreciated.
