Hello…I am looking for help in connecting remotely to my Icloud…tried calling support and says office closed…???..I am new to this and want to know how to connect to my WDMyCloud from remote location…can I just log into my account or do I need an app…I am logging in either via Macbook or Ipad Pro…many thanks for any help…
If you haven’t done so already, read through the My Cloud User Manual (https://support.wdc.com/product.aspx?ID=904) which explains how to access the My Cloud from a remote location. Also see the My Cloud Learning Center (http://mycloud.com/learn/?id=mycloud).
Generally for remote access you need to enable remote access in the My Cloud Dashboard (if not enabled). And then Configure a User for remote access through the My Cloud Dashboard. Then you can either use the MyCloud.com web portal for remote access to the files on the My Cloud. Or use the My Cloud Dashboard for Mac (http://download.wdc.com/nas/WDMyCloud_mac.dmg) to gain remote access to the My Cloud. Or use the WD App for iOS mobile devices (https://itunes.apple.com/us/app/wd-my-cloud/id450655672?mt=8) for remote access.
