PR4100 iSCSI target image recovery questions

For some reason an iscsi mapped drive from my PR4100 now comes up with

from any machine, even newer versions of Windows than those connected to it.

So it either really is encrypted or it’s not and there’s some other issue that makes Windows think it is.

reconnecting iscsi makes no diff. The 15TB .img file is present and I’ve copied it off as a backup.

my questions:

  1. what software should be able to mount or at least open and browse this .img file?
  2. how can I remove the iscsi target WITHOUT deleting the .img file so I can remake with identical details (+1TB) to reconnect a new target to the same img file?

no. CHAP is not enabled

alas no. From similar posts about related issues it seemed the response would likely be there is no option to do x or recover x.

I’ll give it a go.
