I’ve used NAS drives before, so thought this would be easy.
All I wanted is to create some users and have them log in over web… not so simple.
Seems to want to use this mycloud stuff which requires email address. seems a little nosey, but ok. So it created my user and I got email. Try to log into account though on mycloud and all I get is:
You don’t need to enter any user’s email address to create an account; just skip that. But, like almost every other service site on the web, an email address is a useful way of identifying a user. You could create a dummy email address if you’re really that bothered about it.
You don’t need to use any WD software for local network access.
I AGREE, and why I gave the reply I did. I have seen too many people post messages like the OP’s here, He came in with “attitude,” but asked for no help. He just wanted to vent. I have no empathy for that behavior.
Actually I got this working … without changing anything. some hours later I tried again and it worked. I guess since the error was on the mycloud server there must have been an issue with the server side whilst I was trying to install it.
But this does bring up the issue that we are using hardware that is tied to a service WD provide - so WD could decide to retire or break in the future. Now don’t tell me support is always there and on going, given the mycloud site does not even work with Edge despite it been Microsoft standard browser for some time now.
How do we resolve this issue?
On April 2, an email from WD: A refund in the amount of $238.98 has been issued
for order number 01839224.,
Please expect the refund to appear on your credit statement within 3-5 business days.
I have not received this refund.
