Network issue, anyone help?

Hi, longtime lurker here who had found this boards immensely helpful in the past. So thanks for that.

My present issue is driving me insane though.

All of a sudden, about a month ago, my internet connection began dropping every couple of minutes or so. Through a process of elimination I eventually discovered that it was being caused by the MyCloud (or, at least, that switching off/unplugging the ethernet cable resolved the issue)

In my efforts to resolve this I have so far:

  1. Checked for IP conflicts
  2. Disabled the actual ‘cloud’ function on the NAS
  3. Restored the MyCloud to factory settings
  4. Restored my router to factory settings

And so far all to no avail. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks.

Maybe you should try contacting WD’s Technical Support about this. You can do so either by phone or email.

i would suggest you check your router to see if upnp is enabled, see if the tcp ports are set for ports 80 and 443, i would also check the router settings to see if there’s an auto upnp reset and make sure that’s disabled. i have that new fios router and it resets my upnp settings when the cloud drive is inactive

check the cloud ui and it says port forwarding established after these tcp ports are verified.
