Hello, have you tried downloading the latest firmware update?
Firmware Release 4.01.00-408
Thank you for the reply and help. My dashboard does state I am running the latest software since I utilize the auto update feature.
Thank you for the suggestion though!
The error do you mean you can connect from lan but not externally eg. on a mobile network?
From all the router setting images you’ve posted, it doesn’t show any kind of port forwarding being enabled.
From your router 2nd image, enable the wan port trigger. Setup two ports 9080 and 9443. Then in your wd dashboard settings, toggle the cloud access off then on again. You could also specify two ports manually by clicking on the “configure”, manually enter http=9080 https=9443.
I should add the photos are from my last post in September. I did not want to be forced to take that many screen shots again. Plus, I do not believe I could keep my dashboard connected for more than 7-10 minutes.
Thanks once again,
Hi,
do you mean internal connection to the MyCloud, external connection or both?
Do you get an answer if you try ping 192.168.1.142 from cmdline of your PC if you lost the connection?
Since you opened a new thread, you need to unfortunately describe your issue again, perhaps more details without the photos.
How exactly did you lose the connection? Remotely? Just the dashboard? Or even the lan access?
Thank you for the reply.
I use a Mac computer but at this time I have no access on mobile devices or on my Mac. I do have full access for the 5-7 minutes before MyCloud displays the following error message on my iPhone or iPad or Android Phone: "Device Offline, WDMyCloud is not acessible. Local documents are avaiable. I am currently working from home so my devices are all on my home wifi network.
Here is the ping information I received.
Ping has started…

I hope this helps.
Ok so the issue you’re having is losing wd local remote access from all device connected to your home wifi.
Please reboot your asus router, attach your Mac with a lan cable to your asus router. Then play around with your wd shares or software on the Mac see if you get disconnections. If there’s no signs of interruption, it could be your asus router or its wifi issue.
Did you ping after your devices lost the connection to the MyCloud?
This was the first time I have ever pinged before but yes MyCloud was down when I pinged the network.
Come to find out I had a lemon for the last 14 months. Fortuneatly WD customer support was very helpful and apologetic for my problems.
Received my replacement today…we will see how it does!
