I have a wd My Cloud 2TB with 700 GB of memory space. I would use the safepoint via usb but not know the specifics that must have the external hdd.
1 - How much memory is used for the safepoint?
2 - In what format hd must be formatted?
3 - How does the safepoint? Stores every single file on the external HD or create a compressed file smaller which can only be read by MyCloud or other?

The files created by Safepoint are not compressed.  I like this feature because if MyCloud fails I don’t need a WD device or software to recover the files.  Just take the USB and plug it into something else.

Now getting the Safepoint to actually work…
