Local access shows Login partition- not device name on desktop

I have been unable to get this answered by support in weeks. I have 3 MyCloud Home Devices, all set up (successfully) for local access since WD Discovery is going away. These were configured with the original software into different partitions WD called “shares”. So when I connect to my device and share, it shows up on both mac and Windows as my “Share Name”, NOT the device name as it did under WD Discovery. For example, the device name as set up in the web interface is LAN DATA. The share I connect to is “Steve”. The desktop displays the name “Steve” and not LAN DATA. With 3 drives, I now have three drives all named “Steve”. Confusing.

All I want to do is rename the share so the desktop reflects the name of the drive. We had this capability in earlier software, but it has been removed. WD Discovery correctly shows LAN DATA, while connecting via SMB shows “Steve”

Any ideas how to fix this?

Yes, that is the source of frustration… after several email exchanges I still get the same “we Duscovery is discontinuing, you can now map directly, with links to the information on how”. All of this I know and this issue is caused by mapping directly instead of Discovery. Problem stems (as I said in the ticket) from the earlier software encouraging the user to set up “shares” for each user or task. This was removed in later software so now I get the share name instead of the device name. With 3 we drives, I now have 3 drives displaying as the share name which is the same. I even sent a screen shot. If feels as though they do’t fully read my ticket and just send out boiler plate.
