Is hot-swapping supported?

I’ve seen several articles online which claim that the My Cloud Mirror drives are hot-swappable, but the user manual says that you should shut down the device before messing with the drives. Can anyone say for sure whether the drives are hot-swappable?

Actually I see now that according to WD the Mirror does not support hot swapping, but the EX2 and EX4 do:
