So I have the WD Cloud Home device all setup on my mobile phone, laptop and on my girlfriends devices as well, and am in the middle of uploading files to the cloud.
So how do I stream from my WD Cloud Home Device to my PS4 Pro.
I can’t seem to find any information on how its done.
If you want to stream videos and music I recommend to store them in the public folder. On your PS4 you need a DLNA Media Player (VLC Player for example) and set it up smb://yourdevice/Public. VLC Player is in my opinion the best player for all formats.
I think I know what you mean as I have streamed contents from my pc to my ps4, but I don’t know how to set it up on the wd cloud home device as it does not see my device on the ps4 and its all connected on the same home network (router).
If everything is connected to the same network, there must be an option or path in the PS Media Player which says network. Here your MyCloud should appear automatically. If not you can try to add it manually. As I mentioned before, my PS4 gets just dusty in the cornering currently I have no time to check this how it works exactly. But I guess you will find plenty of descriptions online.
You just launch the PS4 Media Player and it displays any sources found … ie. it will display any Media Servers Found and also USB Flash/Hard drives with Media on it.
There is no option to manually add it to the PS4 Media Player
Just to clarify … i’m using an old WD My Cloud Gen 1 which is super simple to use and stream content to any device in my house either via Network or Media Shares of Both.
The OP is using a WD My Cloud Home which is a different device and does things differently (for the worse, in my opinion)
