when i was setting this up, it asked me if i had a PS4 or Xbox… i checked the box to indicate yes… but i haven’t seen any way to connect my ps4.
my son has a youtube channel and records game play video, edits them, then uploads them to his channel… i thought it would be cool if he could just upload the videos from the ps4 to this cloud, then he could work on the videos on his computer from home or on the road… right now he has to transfer them with a flash drive which he hates having to do…
is there a way to set this up to be able to upload videos from the ps 4 to this cloud device?
thanks for the suggestion… i looked through it but wasn’t able to find anything about what i had asked… i did see some information on streaming videos to a ps3 but that’s about it…

The User Manual will inform you what the My Cloud is capable of, and what its features/options are.
The single bay My Cloud is a network attached storage (NAS) device that also includes a media server and basic ability to be accessed remotely using either the WD software/mobile apps, FTP, or the MyCloud.com web portal. Think large hard drive attached to your local network that other computers and mobile devices can access on that local network to copy files to/from and to stream media from.
Officially the single bay My Cloud generally cannot access a PS4 to retrieve content or video. The PS4 would have to have the capability to upload content to the My Cloud from within the PS4 itself.
Can one edit video once it is stored on the My Cloud? Yes but probably not advisable. Generally it is better to edit the video on the local computer’s hard drive then copy or move that video file (through the local network) to the My Cloud for longer term storage.
Can others access the My Cloud to stream video? Yes, see the My Cloud User Manual for more information on how to share files by email links to those files located on the My Cloud or by using the WD software/mobile apps, FTP, or MyCloud.com web portal.
i was thinking maybe there was a way to upload from the PS4 directly to the MyCloud, but i see now that on the PS4 you can only upload to something like Facebook or youtube or twitch, etc… and it does give an option to save files to a connected USB drive from systems storage management, but no way to select a network drive or anything to save videos or screencaptures to… i can see now it is a shortfall of the PS4… maybe they could add in a way to select a local attached USB drive or select a NAS on the same network as the PS4 to upload videos to…
I’ll post in the PS4 forums and see what kind of suggestions i get…
