I am trying to set up a second new mycloud device. My original mycloud device seems to work fine, but I can’t seem to get to the point where I can share the second device so I can map it and use it.
For one thing, I don’t see a way, when logging in, to select one or the other mycloud. When I go to wdmycloud.com, I’m directed to what appears to be the desktop of the new mycloud (access to folders and files – though nothing there yet). When I go to http://WDmycloud, I am directed to the settings (where users and shares are defined) of the original mycloud. How do I get to the settings of the new mycloud so I can share it and get access?
I may have goofed when I used the same user credentials for both devices.
You MUST give the second My Cloud a unique name. Using “wdmycloud” as the name for both My Clouds will cause problems. Attempt to access the second My Cloud by it’s IP address. If that fails then shut down/power off the first My Cloud and attempt to access the second My Cloud via http://wdmycloud (Windows) or http://wdmycloud.local (Mac) and change the second My Cloud name to something unique. Then power on the first My Cloud and you should be able to access both so long as each as a unique name.
