Help--can't get to Dashboard

I can no longer get to the dashboard, I get unable to connect or page not found depending on browsers. I’m on a Mac. I tried all the things I could find in Google searches. Would really appreciate help on this. Here’s what’s going on–

  • I can get to MyCloud in Finder without problem

  • I can ping MyCloyd with the ip address

  • As I said, the dashboard won’t come up when I use /ui or http://wdmycloud.local/

  • I tried a 4-second reset by pressing the reset button and nothing happens. MyCloud keeps working, blue light staus on

  • I tried a 60-second reset by pressing the reset butt and nothing happens. MyCloud keeps working and blue light stays on.

  • I’ve cleared browser caches on Safar, Firefox and Chrome bt still can’t access the Dashboard.

Do you have a My Cloud or My Cloud Home?

I did a factory restore from the command line using /usr/local/sbin/wipeFactoryRestore.sh and it fixed my issue. Losing the data was not a problem for me.

I wasn’t aware of the distinction but I probably have a MyCloud. Maybe the Home is improved but this has been the worst piece of garbage technology that I’ve ever used. Nothing but headaches since I’ve had it. I’m giving it t a friend who likes challenges and I’ll be glad to be rid of it.
