Please help. Recently my WDPassport became faulty and I have lost the data on there. Thankfully, the data backs up to my WDMyCloud. I’ve checked on the app on my phone and ipad and can see the files there. The problem comes when I try to see these files from my laptop. I can get into the folder but only approx. 15 files are showing (there are hundreds actually in this particular folder). What is the problem? I have tried using different browsers to access the files (firefox, google chrome and microsoft edge), all with the same result.
If your laptop is connected to the same local network as the My Cloud use Windows File Explorer or Mac Finder and not a web browser to access the My Cloud.
If one’s Windows computer is not seeing a local network My Cloud then ensure SMB1.0/CIFS is enable. Microsoft typically disables this option in recent Windows updates or in new Windows installations.
Some web browsers, when using the remote access method using the MyCloud.com web portal won’t show all the folders or files in a share. The workaround is to change the browser zoom level (to 100% if not at 100% or to a smaller or larger value if at 100%) which may trigger the browser to correctly load and show all folder/files in a Share.
