I just got a 3 TB My Book. I backed up my files using wd smartware pro. The backup completed. I have continuous set as the frequency. I added a new file and checked to see if it was backed up… It was not. However since the program was not opened, I thought it might only back up with the program open. Since opening the program, it has been on copying files for a while. Is this the way the program operates. I would think it would just copy the new file fairly quickly. The new file still has not been copied to the backup location. Any ideas as to what is going on and what I should do?

Hello, the smartware works in the background,meaning that as long as the process of the application is running it should still backup your files. What type of file where you trying to backup? What is the size?
The file is a pdf about 200kb.
I presume the smartware is loaded during startup.
The backup engine is running is the background. In fact it is constantly utilizing about 15% CPU. See the attached image.
It would appear that new new or modified files has been backed up since the original backup completed.
Any help would be appreciated…
