Can't Copy Files into Playlist

Running WD My Cloud on a Mac. I can create a playlist and open the list. When I try to copy FLAC or MP3 files to the playlist they slingshot back to the WD MY Cloud window and no link gets copied. Been on the phone with WD tech support and they said the WD MY Cloud software is not supported anymore. He went on to say they don’t support playlist anymore. Is this correct? If that’s the case I may need to look for a real media server that can run plex. Any suggestions as to how to copy songs into a playlist would be appreciated.

Thanks

Bob M

@woodcutter Do you have a My Cloud or a My Cloud Home? I’m assuming My Cloud.
What do you mean by “copy files into a play list”?
How and where are you copying files?
What software are you using?
What software is reading from your playlist?
Where is the playlist database located? local computer or My Cloud?

Posting screenshots of the issue with more detail would be very helpful.

I drag a flac file into the playlist window. I assume that should create a link to that file and add the link to the m3u file.

I’m using WD My cloud software on a Mac. All the music is stored on my WD My Cloud device.

Nothing is reading the playlist as it’s empty.

Database is stored on My Cloud Drive under Favorite, playlist.

The Tech Support Rep said playlist could not be created using WD software even though it’s built into the software.

He spent an hour dragging files around on my drive with no luck. That’s when I was told playlist could not be made using WD software. Something so simple should not be this difficult.

Reading more post on the forum I see someone else is having the same issue with Wav files. Guess FLAC files are not supported for playlist. For the life of me I don’t understand why as the only thing being generated is a text file with the location of the music.
