Cannot access Dashboard. admin password req

When setting up my 3Tb My Cloud I did not set an admin password but I cannot access the dashboard and it is asking for an admin password. I have tried resetting the device, powering off the device, powering off the router and using the setup software, nothing seems to work, any clues?

Tries the usual password like admin and blank

Check manual to how to perform a correct “Resetting the My Cloud Device”. It should reset admin’s password to blank.

Already done that by resetting the device

Just tried again, still the same

Curious how you managed that. I just set up a brand spanking new 4TB cloud – it required an admin password – couldn’t get around it.

I setup Mycloud using my email address and password, looking at yet another knowledgebase article I may have done this inadvertently but using my mycloud creds doesnt wor either

Fixed it with a factory reset and now no admin password

That is what I was referring to in manual. That is the only way to reset admin’s passwd
