I’ve noticed that when browsing (via any Browser) any folder that has a large number of files, that I don’t get a thumbnail of the image file - only the icon.
Also, on folders that do build the thumbnails, the thumbnail is very small - is there no option to choose/alter the size of the thumbnail as there in file explorer?
Thanks for getting back. I’m accessing via my browsers (Chrome, Firefox and IE) as I’m remote and I cannot use file explorer.
It works fine if there are only a few image files in the folder - I can see the thumbnails.
But on folders where there are many image files (> 50), there are no thumbnails - only icons. My hunch is that the WD site chokes when there are so many files…
Hmm… I’m not sure exactly where the mycloud.com web interface is hosted. I guess the initial interface must be to a WD site, as it requires the domain translation. But the data connection, in port forwarding mode, should go direct between your accessing device and your MyCloud. I don’t think WD want all that data flowing through their comms servers; I thought that was just used for setting up the session connection.
How fast is your download speed where you are when this happens? What upload speed do you have on your home network? Have you given the thumbnails for a very large file time to load?
To see larger images switch from, View files in a list to View files in a grid. Use the icon below the blue bar, top right, above the images or the list. See images below. Click on, tap or activate image to enlarge it.
Thanks for your input. My download speed here at work is 91MB. It doesn’t matter how long I give the browser, they never build. I don’t think it’s the size of the individual image files (they range from 970K to 4MB) - none of them build.
And thanks for the grid option. I knew about that , but thought there might be more options, as there are in File explorer…
I’ll check the upload speed of my network at home where the WD drive is, later…
