Like Zubrania I’ve clicked the link to Nazar78’s online installer and been redirected to the wd community page.
I take it this relates to the latest v04.01.01-413 firmware upgrade.
This has wiped out my transmission installation and several other modifications I’ve made in the file system.
Although I have My Cloud email notifications enabled, I never get anything (other than the test emails I send), so wasn’t aware the firmware upgrade had even taken place until 12 hrs later, when I tried to look at transmission’s web interface.
So now I’ve disabled firmware auto upgrades. I’ll upgrade manually from now on, so at least I have some idea of what’s happening with the device.
Hi I’m trying to backup my config so I can upgrade my firmware but u don’t have a .config folder anywhere on the drive in either ~\ or \root as previously suggested. Please can you help?
I get my credentials but I can’t complete the installation: Always the same error :Error-8: Unable to retrieve required files! Server issued an error response.

I’ve followed nazar’s guide and managed to install transmission, and i could access the web interface @ 192.168.1.200:9091. 192.168.1.200 is mycloud’s private address btw.
I’d like to know how to access this if i’m not in my home network. I’ve tried finding my ip address @ whatsmyipaddress and typed my ip, 139.xxx.xxx.xxx:9091 in my browser but i couldn’t access it.
The nas is available in the internet and i could access it from mycloud app in my iphone.

Its a hidden folder (/root/.config/transmission-daemon/) which you can see with “ls -a”.

Thanks.
You’ll need to forward port 9091 in your router to the nas. Refer to your router’s manual on how to do this…
While using transmission, I’m getting error ‘cannot write to /root/downloads, device is full’ sort of problem. Why is that? last I checked, my wd cloud still have 1.5 TB storage available.
Can anyone help me? I had good speed today on transmission (740Kbs), but now it is very very slow (1-20Kbs). On my Mac speed for same torrent and same local network is very good.
Thanks a lot for your guide Nazar, works quite well for me, but I’m having a couple of issues.
Fisrt, when i use the GUI from a remote ip, it will work fine for a minute, two, ten or sometimes an hour, all of a sudden I will get an error message in my browser that The path doesn’t exist on the server, or sometimes that permission is denied. To work around this I can logon to my Asus RT-AC66U, remove the forwarding to the WD, re-add it straight away, and we’re back.
I get this in my browser:
Not Found
The requested URL /transmission/web/ was not found on this server.
Additionally, a 404 Not Found error was encountered while trying to use an ErrorDocument to handle the request.
-------------------------------------
Which leads me to my next issue, when restarting the daemon, my finished torrents doesn’t come back up… Any ideas, I’ve tried looking in the settings file, but haven’t really found anything about it.
Also, would it be possible to get a hold of your ‘unrar’ package for the 64page sys? Im running the 4x.413.
