All,
I’ve been trying to download and install Anti Virus Essentials app on my Cloud EX2 Ultra as the latest firmware 2.21.126 does not include apps on dashboard.
I’ve already tried several ways and links (even from WD official web site), however the bin file does not properly work (NAS shows an error while installing and it stops).
Is there a specific link where to download the correct app version of Essentials?
App menu is there however it does show only HTTP, FTP & P2P download. As soon as I click on the button “install app”, it appears a window with NO apps in there and it asks me to download manually from anywhere from PC folders.
I’m not sure on that one. Mine is showing the full list of app for down load. Have you tried rebooting and then checking to see if apps are showing? It may be worth a try.
Well, thank you very much, re-booted this morning and it does show now all apps (very strange as I re-booted once after the new firmware was installed and nothing showed after that).
BTW, have you got anti virus essentials installed? is it working fine? As I read that it’s very slow to scan the system
Also, is it capable to scan files as soon as you try to upload remotely from tablets, smartphones, or any other user with permission is trying to upload?
i might need some info on the FTP application built in apps by default
can you check in some details for me. If possible,
Does it allow any threading based download say if i added 10gb or 40gb file does it split the connections and download in 4 or 8 or 16 different parts.
How flexible the FTP application. Is there any limitation on the same. Ex4 is partition being used. So i hope it wont have much of size restriction.
Does it have option to add multiple link simultaneously. Say 10+ or even 30+ links at once for queue processing.
No just screen shot of home page once you click FTP and account section page.
Also if you click add it will show a screen to add link for ftp downloads. In there some hint might show like add some delimitation charectors for multiple link something like that.
Since you dont use it. No details needs to hidden. its just plain screen shot of the application page and options available with it.

Manually Updating the firmware on your My Cloud EX2
Important: Make sure you stop all processes and save all your data before performing the firmware update.
Note: My Cloud devices require a hard drive inserted into the bay and a volume must be created to perform the firmware update.
Do not interrupt the firmware upgrade process. Doing so may cause the device to malfunction or unable to boot.
If you are using the manual update method, do not rename the firmware file. Doing so will cause the manual update to fail and can corrupt the system.
