We switched ISPs and with the new router (BGW210-700), I can no longer access my WD My Cloud remotely. It seems that the new router does not allow some necessary settings changes (maybe uPNP - can’t remember right now).
I read in the WD support articles that it can help to replace the router or at least insert another router (one that does allow the necessary settings) in between the main router and the WD My Cloud.
I have now done this and made (I think) the required changes in the secondary router’s (WRT150N) settings. I still can’t get it on the internet.
Because Western Digital does not provide any kind of networking support they invariably redirect me to my ISP. AT&T has tried to resolve the issue without luck.
Is anyone aware of a resource or checklist that shows everything that must take place to resolve an issue of this kind?
Some keywords that may or may not be relevant that have come up in my research:
UPnP Settings
DNS Server Settings
Port Forwarding
Network Address Translation
I called WD Support again and these are the two articles they recommended I give to my ISP:
For what it’s worth, I have a D-Link switch I can use as the “middle man” instead of the Linksys router if necessary.
OP, you should not need to go through all this krap, If things worked before AT&T it all should work now. Too many people have had issues with AT&T, search the forums for AT&T.
I have Comcast ISP, my own Asus router, and Arris modem, I don’t rent.them from Comcast.
Your issue is entirely with AT&T. They need to come to your house, and fix this ASAP at no charge, or dump the service. This is ridiculous!
