I have a WD 8Tb My Cloud.
I have added three folders for my family & I to use individually.
I can access one of these with my name thereon, but not the others.
Therefore I am unable to view the content of other folders, for which I gave myself permission through Admin.
Also, I am unable to see the Public folder, which means I am unable to upload files for others to share.
Would someone have any suggestions as this is somewhat different to the old MyBookLive I own?
Windows network drive credentials problem. Logged onto a PC as a PC user, you must use a single set of credentials to access network drives. These credentials must be those of a MyCloud user.
Map network drives, forcing the use of MyCloud credentials. Use windows credentials manager to remove any credentials it has established for accessing the drive (before you map the drives…).
Use the Dashboard to set up MyCloud users, and the permissions they have for accessing shares.
Howdy!
Yay, success, I can now see everything…once mapped.
Had to read your Post a couple of times, but you were spot on.
Seems stupid something so simple can become so difficult.
Thanking you immensely; I take my hat off to you.
I am having a similar issue where I cannot access my wd mycloud using credientials. When I put it on public access, it works ok. I have two shares set up on my wd my cloud but my credientials do not work.
I have windows 7 professional.
Is the correct network map share format: \WDMYCLOUD\username?
What credentials are you using? The one you created for the user through the My Cloud Dashboard? Or the MyCloud.com credentials created by the user to access the My Cloud remotely? Or the Windows Credentials used to log into the Windows computer?
For accessing the My Cloud through Windows File Explorer one uses the user name and password created for the User on the User tab in the My Cloud Dashboard.
