Wireless option does not show up in network settings since the update. D-link DWA 131
Help!
Try a hard reset. If that doesn’t work, roll back to previous version.
Thanks for the reply. Hard reset meaning unplug for a minute? How would I go about rolling back 1 version?
Thank you
My wireless options are also gone. Help.
I did the hard reset and it did nothing. I followed directions to roll back, but when I put my usb drive in with the last ver. I do not get an option to udate firmware.
What a nightmare!
I rolled back using this link.
follow the instruction and that will take you back to an older version. Then I had my wireless option again. Now i’m updating to my older version before this update.  So far, so good. I would then wait until they fix this new update before i do that one again.  I hope this helps.
It helped. Thank you
I updated to 1.04.17_B and it no longer recognizes my D-Link DWA-131 Wireless N Nano USB Adapter; so I downgraded to 1.04.10_B and it works fine again. I wish i knew how to write firmware and driver packages because i would make it my TOP priority to get as many devices to work together as possible.WD did not test this obviously.
Here are the Known Devices.    http://wdc.custhelp.com/cgi-bin/wdc.cfg/php/enduser/std_adp.php?p_faqid=3805&p_created=1255474998&p_sid=zIIByTik&p_accessibility=0&p_redirect=&p_srch=1&p_lva=&p_sp=cF9zcmNoPTEmcF9zb3J0X2J5PSZwX2dyaWRzb3J0PSZwX3Jvd19jbnQ9MTE5LDExOSZwX3Byb2RzPTIwOCwzMzMmcF9jYXRzPSZwX3B2PTIuMzMzJnBfY3Y9JnBfcGFnZT0x&p_li=&p_topview=1
lost my wireless as well, tried 7 different adapters, none work.  i hate this player so much, it’s been nothing but grief for me.  thanks western digital, you’ve really got a great testing team in place, it’s good to see you stopped to think about your customers for three seconds before delivering this garbage to a million devices.  glad i get to waste my weekend now tinkering with this worthless brick.
My Wireless device is not work either, I tried a 1Tb portable drive in the usb port. That told me the port was working because the usb device worked. The firmware upgrade is blocking the port. It’s probably something like port forwarding, where you have to manual open the port for the device to make it through Winsock.
I think WDC needs patch’s as appose to complete firmware updates, the patch is dedicated to one issue.
I still think this is a good product, it’s very user friendly and that a big plus in my book.Â
After updating to new firmware wiress option was remove. After 1 hr of troubleshooting I had to roll back using this link: http://wdc.custhelp.com/cgi-bin/wdc.cfg/php/enduser/std_adp.php?p_faqid=5800 if you want to use again wiress adapters.

hi i am having the same problems with my wda-131 n-router
i followed the directions and downloaded the older firmware but when i plug in my thumb drive into the usb port and select settings I am not getting the “new firmware found” icon.
i reset my system to factory defaults and it’s still showing I have version 1.04.17_B firmware installed.
it’s not giving me the option to revert to the last firmware that is listed on this page

thank you, any help would be most appreciqted

- *You probably didn’t download the right rollback package.
i downloaded the Firmware Ver. 1.03.49_V
i have the WDTV live player
is there a more current version other than what’s listed on this page?
http://wdc.custhelp.com/cgi-bin/wdc.cfg/php/enduser/std_adp.php?p_faqid=5800
thank you for your quick reply
But did you download it from the LINK on THAT PAGE?
And did you get the right one for your player? B for the LIVE PLUS, V for the LIVE
yes downloaded the “V” version for WDTV live (not the plus) from that page that has the directions for downgrading.
still not getting the “new firmware found” logo when i install the usb drive. i’ve tried installing the USB drive and turning the WDTV live on and have tried plugging it in after the wdtv live is already on and running and it’s still not finding the files (which are at the top level of the usb drive) - it’s finding the other files on the thumb drive but not recognizing the firmware files
thanks
Same problem with my DWA-131 USB wireless network adaptor. WD Plz fix it!

So you have unzipped the 3 files (.ver / .bin / .fff) and put them and them alone in the root of your usb drive?
Can we assume that you have both a live and live plus because your other posts were in relationship to the live plus.
