what would prompt this when copying between 2 usb drives- one main 3tb and 1 64gb carrier drive- that both play files fine. am doing scan and repair on destination drive- as that was the error message, was able to do copies between all fine and then when i did one last week- a large one - mid copy it failed… and since then it wont take anything to the main usb, tried a different carrier drive to check if it was the 64 gb but same error came up. any help would be appreciated. side note- my 3tb seagate has issues on one partition when copying files- it just doesnt like to do it properly on the pc- which is why i use the media player … until now…
Hi, what format are the USB drives formatted to? What firmware version has your WD TV?
they are FAT32 and the firmware is 1.06.15
after doing a bad sector scan on my pc and error check of the drive- it copied across files fine. but i think the folder was ‘read only’ so when i tried to add more files to that newly copied over file it gave me the read write fail again… i will have to check the origin folder to see if this is the problem. if the folder is copied across as read only will that stop new stuff from being added into that folder and give me the 'write fail ’ message? tia
