I needed to change the drive letter for a mapped folder on a computer in the basement that accesses the MyCloud via wifi. I deleted the existing mapping as a preliminary. Now, although the MyCloud appears in the list of Network devices in File Explorer I cannot see how to reconnect it. Meanwhile, a computer on the main floor that accesses the MyCloud using the LAN works perfectly well.
Thank you. I hadn’t tried that variation. I had tried \MYCLOUDEX2ULTRA. This works as expected on the machine that’s connected via LAN but not on the troublesome one connected by wifi. (Forgot: unfortunately, none of these worked.) If you have any other ideas I’d appreciate reading about them.
Thank you, yes, I finally tried this, after many distractions. I also tried some other possibilities I found in another post. No luck with any of them.
Problem solved!
My unit was shipped with (some) version 3 of shareware. Although I had selected auto update nothing much that I could discern happened but a day or two after I installed the thing I received a yellow message block offering version 5(!). An attempt to use the means offered in the home page failed. However, ‘Firmware Update’ in ‘Settings’ worked a day or two later. Then at some point I noticed the reappearance of my MyCloud as a ‘Computer’ and as ‘Storage’ in Windows 10 File Explorer.
