Why 12TB only has 6TB capacity for using?

hi I’ve purchased a 12TB Ultra EX2, why only has 6TB for using at the dashboard information? thanks for letting me know, really confused!

All Two-Drive Devices are set to Mirror Mode RAID 1 by Default to offer data security. This causes the two drives to work as you would have one drive only.

RAID 1 Mirroring is writing data on both drives but the capacity of one drive is shown.
If one of the both drives fail, you simply replace the broken one and after some time, all data from the good drive is copies onto the blank new one to re-establish the Mirror Mode. This helps to protect your data from a single-drive-crash.

@yanxing - What @Joerg_A says is true. I did want to add however that if you want to use all the space on the drive you can - you just need to change the RAID mode on the drive first.
