Exchange RAID 1 HDD's for larger ones

My EX2 Ultra currently has 2 x 4TB drives in Raid 1 mirroring in case of drive failure so i dont loose anything.
Now if i want to upgrade to larger HDD’s like maybe 12TB how do i go about it ?
I have Auto Rebuild turned on in Raid settings so , do i just remove one of the 4TB drives and put in the 12TB drive. Then let it rebuild the Raid 1 mirroring and once finished repeat with the other drive ?

Almost seems to easy ? Would that work ?

That’s pretty much it.

The end result will be a 4TB volume; you will have to do “raid expand” once both drives are installed to get the full 12TB capacity.

I would not mess with any of this before backing up the data.

Hello. I am trying to increase my storage from 10TB X 2 to 18TB X 2. I transferred the data to one of the 18TB drives, they swapped in the other 18TB drives and it Auto-Rebuilt the drives to RAID 1.

Then I tried to expand the total storage to the full 18TB using the expand capacity function. It was working fine but now it is stuck on 73% and has not moved for hours. It is just saying Volume_1 is expanding… 73%.

Anyone have any ideas?
