What is the purpose of the SmartWare Share in the My Cloud dashboard

I have a WD 2TB My cloud personal storage. I have the following questions:

1.  What is the purpose of the smartware Share in the My cloud dashboard?

2. While setting a backup in smartware, I noticed that sometimes the BACKUP & RETREIVE TABS are GREYED OUT and I must close the app and restart.   Why does this happen?

just the default share for smartware backups, you can change it in smartware and delete or set permisions on this share as needed. It could also be used for anything esle with no issues except possiable confusion

I havn’t notice the greyed out tabs but I don’t go into smartware verrt often
