For anyone else wondering I am fairly certain that the WD Sync program is creating the .WDTemp folder as it is sync’ing. I stopped the program, deleted the folder, and started the program back up and it immediately created the folder and started putting items in it.

Yes. The .WDTemp folder IS created and used by the WD Sync program.
