I have been using MyCloud for a few years already and only recently I realized with the WD Sync turned on, there were copies of files stored under the .WDTemp folder in C drive. It currently takes up around 100GB out of 250GB of my SSD drive. I deleted all of the files manually once and then most of them came back. Right now, I have to turn off the WD Sync to prevent those files from resurrecting themselves.
Do I have an option other than disabling WD Sync? Please help.
While I don’t use WD Sync (I use Free File Sync) if one can set the install location of the WD Sync program duing installation, it might be possible to install WD Sync to an external USB hard drive and maybe then WD Sync program would create the .WDTemp folder on the external hard drive rather than the internal SSD drive. I do this with a number of programs so I don’t fill up the SSD drive on my laptop. Downside is one has to remember to keep the USB drive attached to the computer else the program may not run.
