MS decided I had an error in my OS and there was only one solution. Reload the system and lose all my installed programs. After going through the lengthy process I started reloading software and found that Acronis did not work. Further discovery found that WDmYCloudDL2100 was not mappable from WE. I could connect through my browser and ping the ip address but not see the drive as an NAS on explorer. All diagnostics show drives (2 6TB in Raid 1) are healthy and firmware is current.
Can you ping the dl by name?
start>run> type \dl_ip_addy
do the shares show there?
You do have a public share?
Typed in \DL and got this… "windows cannot find " \dl
that is supposed to be two whacks and the ip address of the box
\\192.168.1.whatever
Sorry have to type 3 whacks on the reply to get two to show up???
Thanks but no joy
what does no joy mean? can you post a screenshot of ping nas ip and then the of \\nas ip
What was your original issue that MS said to reload the NAS? You paid MS $500 for a support call for this?
No I went to boot up and got an error message saying something was wrong and I could not boot up. There was no way around not restoring the system so I restored and have been fighting problems with Networking for the past two weeks. I have my Telco modem/router and a Linksys gigabyte router that he NAS is attached to. Since it is a dual band it woks great except it is not Gigabit speed. I was able to see it and check to see if the NAS showed up and it did. Now I can’t connect to the router from a web page but I am connected to the internet through the Linksys/Telmex routers???
I was in computers from 1961 until I retired 10 years ago. Fixing them designing them teting tem installing them and then programming full time. The two rules i lived by was “If it ain’t broke don’t fix it.” and KISS Keep It Simple Stupid. Those rules seem to have been lost.
Thanks for your help

I am sorry, I thought you reloaded the NAS. Can you login to your Linksys router? Is your PC also in the Linksys router?
can you from a cmd prompt type ipconfig /all>ip.txt and press enter
then paste the contents of ip.txt here
Sorry for the confusion. I did have to reload WD Access, Smartware.
I can run ipconfig /all fine but when I add >ip.txt I get "Access is denied
When trying to look at the router www.linksyssmartwifi.com
I get a time out This site can’t be reached.
Bill Barnes
try running command prompt in admin mode
tap the windows key and type cmd right click run as administrator
if that does not work have you installed a 3rd party anti virus or firewall?
Sorry to be so dense but I ran the command as you suggested as administrator ipconfig /all >ip.txt. No error messages but no ip.txt file to be found anywhere???
Bill Barnes
got this from WD trying to send ip.txt
We’re sorry, but your email message to [“wd+2cdeb8450acf01e5027a031267ab8663@discoursemail.com”] (titled Re: [WD Community] [Network Attached Storage/My Cloud DL Series] WDMyCloud not acessible) didn’t work.

Sorry, new users can’t put attachments in posts.
If you can correct the problem, please try again.
I am going to try copy and paste.

I highlighted the things that jumped out at me. Not saying I know how to fix if it is wrong.
Bill Barnes
It looks like you are using a wireless adapter connected to your ISP’s modem not the Linksys.
if you open internet explorer and type
http://10.221.254.122 what do you see?
The NAS and the PC must be connected to the same device and be on the same subnet. The DL2100 does not have a LCD panel does it? I have the DL4100 that does
I got the linksys router page??? I did not know the IP address. I had always accessed it from a desktop icon that was created when I first instlaled it. The DL does not have an LED jut 3 blue lights, power and the two drives. Linksys says WD is offline. Both ports are flashing green. One port is indicating a yellow light saying it is slow. This is progress My phone is showing online as is the computer. Both are WiFi. When I try to bring up the WD from the toolbar he name is not what I am used to seeing. and when I click the WDMYCLOUD comes up with a request to wake the device up. Tried clickin it but it does nothing. You are being a great help and I appreciate it. The adapter is connected to the linksys. It is a dual 5 and 2.4Ghz. The 5 is Bill_Gigabyte and the other is Bill_2.4Ghz. My phone connects normally to 2.4 because my house is all concrete an brick. Hell on wifi signals. here is a new ipconfig

The ip addrss for the Telmex router is http://192.168.1.254/.
Thank you for your time.
Bill Barnes
why do you have two routers? Does the telmex not have wifi? How many ports are on the telmex? The WD NAS is plugged into a lan port of the Linksys?
I think I would reboot the WD. Briefly press the power button once and after a bit it should shut down. Then power it back up
The reason for this is that the transfer rate of the Telmex router is 100Mbs. Backups take days.
