I have just purchased a WD TV Play and am trying to set it up for use. It will recognize and play media files from a flash drive, but it will not recognize “My Passport” 2TB when I connect it to the USB port. Any assistance would be greatly appreciated.

I recommend that you format the drive on your computer and then try it again. Please note that formatting the drive will delete all data stored on the drive.

Is there a particular format that WD TV Play recognizes i.e. Fat32, NTFS etc or does it matter??
If you have large media files, then NTFS is best.
Do NTFS. I have 2TB hard drive in NTFS. It works perfectly.
