WD My Passport 1 TB cannot be recognized by my WD TV HD Media Player

Hi guys, need some help. I got my WD Media Player in 2009, and since then, i’ve been using several external hard drives (a WD My Passport 500 GB and other brands), downloading movies and TV shows off the net and putting these in the hard drives. I’ve had no problems playing movies once the drives are connected to the WD TV. I’ve upgraded the latest firmware (which was last 2009 also).

Now, I bought a 1 TB WD My Passport SE Drive, so I can put in even more movies. Strangely, when I hook up the drive to the WD TV, the media player does not recognize it (no drive connected or something). Why is this happening (or not happening)?  Before I leave this question to the experts, here are also some things you might need to know:

  1. I use a Macbook Pro.

  2. I also use the same 1 TB drive as the TIme Machine backup.

Thanks for the help!

Regards,

You’ll need to disable journaling before the WD TV HD can read the files. Here you have instructions to disable
