I’m trying to preform a recovery on my WD Sentinel DX4000. I’ve just finished creating a bootable usb with the recovery software using the PAN AM ISO found here ( http://support.wdc.com/product/download.asp?groupid=1601&sid=162〈=en)..) I shutdown the system, plugged in said usb into one of my servers USB ports and held down the recovery button for 30 seconds and nothing happened. I’m sure the button is being held down because I can hear the click when pressing it but the LCD screen won’t pop up even after 1 minute of holding the button down. There is no message of · “WINDOWS IS LOADING FILES” or INITIALIZING OK LOADING RECOVERY.” Is the reset button broken? Or am I missing a step that the guide and recovery wizard is not telling me?
While you are holding the reset button, you also press the power button once

I had the same problem exactly.
WD sent me a new box and told me to put my original drives from my old box in and everything would be OK and I would have my data back.
I have been so far unsucessful in getting back my data.
