hey my wd sentinel dx 4000 lost its ip address, i am unable to log back to it with the new given ip. Can someone help?
What is the new ip and what is the ip oif your local pc?
If it is one of those funky auto IP’s then the WD box cannot see a dhcp server. Either there noi longer is one, a bad cable. switch, nic
After you get your DX4000 setup, the very first thing you should do is RDP (Remote Desktop Protocol) into it and set the IP address to a static address, that you then write down somewhere. This will prevent your DHCP (or APIPA) lease from expiring and “losing” your DX4000.
