WD MyCloud EX4 and USB problems

Hi there
A have many problems with my my cloud ex4. When i connect a USB drive to the unit the EX4 stops responding and i can’t se it in the network. I have to reboot the EX4 the hard way. After rebooting and i plug in the USB drive i manage sometimes to connect to the EX4 and the USB drive via my PC. When I start copying form the USB drive the EX4 becomes very Slow and after the file copying the EX4 are missing many files. What is wrong ? I am desperate now. :slight_smile: I think I just have to return the EX4 to the dealer. :frowning:

What have you tried so far? Does this happen with other USB drives as well? Did it use to happen in an older firmware revision?

I performed a HW RESET on the rear panel yesterday and now I can attach the 2TB WD my Passport without problems. I also followed the procedure about installing a certificat in the myCloud signin in MS Explorer, not in Chrome. I hope it works, so far it’s looks so. I am optimistic now.

You take a paperclip and activate the RESET button for 5 sec. The EX4 must be on.

and this procedure delete the data?

No just the system, the data on the drives stays. :slight_smile:
