WD MyBook being used for Safepoint backups on WD My Cloud (Sleep Mode Question)

Does anyone use the WD MyBook for Safepoint backups? The reason I ask is because I am curious if the WD MyBook will fall asleep when the WD MyCloud is idle. I want my safepoint backup drive to fall asleep when the WD MyCloud is in sleep mode. Based on the manual the WD MyBook has a sleep option. It would be nice to configure automatic safepoint backups to a drive that is only spinning when it is needed.

Has anyone tried this? Does it work well?

I have 3 TB MC with a 4 TB My Book Studion 'permanently attached

I have noticed that My Book and My Cloud sleep. I’ve not messed with My Book and just assumed that My Cloud was controlling it’s sleep
