WD My Cloud 4 TB on a Mac

I am at my wits end with this device!  I can access it through the app, but I can’t access the UI via browser, so I can’t update the firmware.  I am also not able to access the device remotely from my phone or tablet.  It looks like Time Machine lost connection with it about 9 days ago, and I’m not sure why.

I have tried Finder - Go - Connect to Server but that doesn’t work either…  It says the server may not exist or is unavailable…

When I try to access it through the browser, I use wdmycloud.local/ui it says  webpage not available, DNS lookup failed.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Update…Now I can’t even connect via the WD My Cloud App!

The IP address of your MyCloud may have changed. Use your router control panel to find the IP address your MyCloud  has been given. Then use this address to access the Dashboard, adding /ui at the end.

If that doesn’t work, try resetting your router this will force your MyCloud to reboot too.

Hi, you must set WD My Cluod IP with a fix IP Adress.

To look actual IP Adress you need an app like Fing.app (in iPhone) that give you all IP in your local network, WDMyCloud included…

So, edit your WDMyCluod-PanelControl.webloc alias with TextEdit and change the ip in the file with the new one.

Now you should enter in UI with your favorite web browser.

Set WDMyCloud IP with static IP. (the same you edit in .webloc alias)
